Glad you had a good hunt, the cover is great for the birds, suck for the dog and shooter.

They have a good web-site. Maps of their public land with good directions and their road survey. If you hunt in the north half of state on public land you have to use lead free shells.

The only campgrounds I found open during the bird season would be state campgrounds.

Why noy stay in Michigan and go after woodcock, as you know cover is a lot different. May not be what you are after. Did you look into south Iowa. We have found quail while looking for phesants. Call a DNR officer and talk with them. We did and they gave some real good info. The moyel we stayed...
