SW SD Hunting

Hey guys, has anyone been to the southwest part of the state hunting? I will be coming thru the Pine Ridge area and wanted to start hunting my way east back to home in Iowa. Just a couple of us as well as a couple of our shorthairs looking to get our dogs on some birds. Any advice would be great as far as walk in land or private land to pay for and of course hotels. We dont need a guide just trying to find a few spots to strech our legs and watch the dogs work.

I hunted on the GPA's near Martin on both the early resident season and regular opener. There were birds early but all of the hunting pressure has pushed birds off public to private land. On the last day hunted there, two of us hunted hard but never fired a shot all day. I don't think those GPA's or WIA's will be worth a darn till late Dec.
