Prescribe Burn SGL

That's some real good stuff! Creating some excellent habitat for wildlife. Good ole Bradford County!;) ;)
 
I was in the Gettysburg area today and they are doing a burn on the battlefield. I read they were doing 30 acres. I was hoping to see it in action but they didn't start while I was there.
 
My son in law who is a wildlife biologist in NJ just finished a major burn in the Pine Barrens. It is not far from the Cranberry Plantation where the Quail Restoration is taking place. It is hoped that good habitat can be connected and the quail can continue to spread.
 
Here are a couple of pictures of the battlefield after the burn. I took them on Monday.

I'll have to remember to check the area out over the summer to see how it changes.

I also saw a rooster with two hens today close to home. I am patiently waiting for spring to end so I can run the dogs again.

On a more serious note..my thoughts and prayers are with the residents of Fort McMurray,Alberta.
