Pheasant Nicknames

My mom always used to call pheasant "stubble duck"! Just wondering what other nicknames there are out the for the wiley "ditch chicken"?

I hope this doesn't get me in trouble, but my grandpa always called them "chinks". He was from the old days so he was set in his ways.

The duck hunters around here simply refer to them as "chickens".

I like to shoot roosters, and occasionally a rudey. I don't know why, but i don't shoot cocks, maybe it's the whole double entendre thing.

years ago my uncle called the "Longspured birds".........Bob

Cacklers, was another one I have heard........Bob

Ditch Parrot (I have heard them called in Kansas....)

"Expensive"... I call them (48 pheasant hunting trips in last 3 seasons, ND, SD, KS, CO... trying to get my new pup as much exposure as possible his first few years)... guess it worked out ok... he is a 2X GMPR now... not too mention all the fun along the way... worth every penny... headed to SD this Thursday for 6 days... can't wait!!
