Opening day

I am pretty excited for opening day this year, Its going to be a great one! I have not been out any due to my work schedule but need to get my dog out.


Are you seeing many pheasants?

Haven't personally been out much but I have been hearing good things from guys that travel in the morning. Even an uptick in Hungarian partridge also.

I haven't been out, but most of the farmer friends we hunt on, have talked more about "all the quail" they have seen vs the pheasants. Seems like the combines are getting ready to roll in my area which would help opener also.

I've been out a few times with the dog and pointed/chased up a few. Last Sunday afternoon (about 2:30) my brother, brother-in-law and I were standing in the front yard at the farm and heard two roosters crowing back and forth at each other from a cornfield. Been a long time since I heard that in the middle of the afternoon.
