Went out yesterday after a little bit of driving. Felt like a duck hunter waking up so early! Anyway, saw 4 coveys of birds. 2 were big, 2 were not. Got some decent dog work toward the end of the day. Better shooting would have put a few more in the bag but 5 will do. Saw a handful of pheasants. Definitely alot less in this area as compared to years past. Didnt see as many quail as normal either. Hunted 8 hours. The puppies bumped a few early on and one got a pretty good gash on his leg from barb wire on the first round so had to put him up for the day. So had some kinks and frustrations today but cant complain!
