Made a trip to the northeast quarter of Kansas last week. My hunting buddy and myself , my 10 moth old gsp and his 1.5 year old gsp decided to try something new. It was different than our usual north central area that we hunt. More corn and beans than milo. Hunted 3.5 days. We were focusing on quail and woody cover. We moved 8 covies of quail and 4 pheasants (1 rooster). I don't think I would focus a trip to the area for an out of towner but maybe worth a day for you locals. When we found corn and crp , we found birds. Area was pretty heavily hayed and grazed. Most of the harvested crop fields had cows on them grazing. The fields that didn't have cows still had a little cover. Really nice area though , had fun!

I’m actually heading up that way middle of next week. Used to be a regular occurrence as it’s only an hr and a half from my house. I skipped the last couple but with it being slow beats hanging around the house. Had some great hunts up there 15 years ago and more
