Minnesota Master Hunt Test

September 13th is the Greater Minnesota Hunt Test Association championship. Again this year the Kettle River Retreiver Group is hosting the event at their beautiful grounds in Hinckly MN. This is a hunt test scored as trial. A mixture of AKC, HRC, and NAHRA rules are used. All breeds are eligible to compete and prizes are awarded 1-4 place. If you have a good dog or just want to see some great dogs work check out specialtie events at entryexpress.com. I expect to have 1 or 2 senior dogs and hopefully one master dog competing

I might make it up to watch if my bears on the ground by then. See what I'm getting into with the new one....

none of them boys grouse hunt or archery deer hunt??? thats mn small game aka grouse and archery deer opener...

SMO good call on the opener...looks to be the opener here also! I better check.
We only bow hunt the evenings being the bigger bucks are usually only in the alfalfa the last hour or two before dark, would still be able to check it out until mid day, early afternoon. But the bear comes first after waiting 11 years for a tag, one year was my fault but still a long time to wait!

that would suck a 11 yr wait??? u trying for a special tag or unit in wi??? come to mn we have leftover tags yearly im sure its better odds then every 11 yrs we dont even hunt em in our family but lots of bear by our cabin lots of hunters also but on state lands...

we will be upland bird hunting ruffed and sharptail grouse sept 13-15 im not a archery deer hunter well i dont really deer hunt much anymore being i have dogs and there not welcome at many deer camps lol

i mite try to head west to mt for sage grouse b4 they close the season so i got birds on my mind i guess...

look into mn bear hunts u mite be able to go each yr if u want???

Nothing special as far as the tag goes but over here hounds and bait sitters rotate every other year by law who hunts the first week, I'm sitting baits so I took a point last year instead of trying to bait in bears that have been chased and nocturnal. Around home where hounds are not allowed people get tags 3-4 years, up at the cabin average about 8-9 years.
This is my first bear hunt, probably my last....so I hope to make it count!
Just drove threw your neck of the wood bringing my pup back down to the trainer, traffic was thick on 494 then down 35 for a Sunday afternoon!

hate it around my area always traffic in summer time...

we bait hunt also dogs not allowed in mn to run bears... if u need other bear hunt options look at mn... dog bear guys should always have 2nd shot after they are through its not like bears are likly to hit baits write away u guys dont hurt there dog hunts by baiting???
