I don't know where you are driving from, but I certainly wouldn't make Hiawatha a destination spot for upland. I hunt up that way once a year or so as a habit, I have good ground to hunt and it is pretty spotty. Birds have been down up there for years
Hiawatha used to have some pretty decent upland hunting. Actually the entire NE part of the state. But, it's not anymore.
We were just talking about when we first moved to our home how many pheasants we used to see. I used to see them in my driveway, crossing the road in front of the car etc etc. Haven't seen one in probably 5-7 years.
18 posts in four years, and at least two about where to hunt is Kansas after two years of drought. Do some research? I find boot leather and tired dogs to be the best tools.
