After stressing about a new A5 or a new Citori 725 12ga. I'm picking up my new gun in the morning. Browning Citori White Lightning 16ga with oil finish and 28s. New in the box with the plastic on. Boy, am I pumped! Thanks for all the advice I got from this forum. $1750, but I don't care right now. Might care later when wife finds out.

You will not be sorry. A excellent choice:10sign:

I just closed a deal on that exact gun myself !!! Great minds think alike, mine should be here in about 10 days. Congrats. Thinking it will be my main phez gun with 1 1/8 #6 over my Brittany this fall.

You guys are making this awfully hard on me. Me, the 16ga fanatic and I don't have a Citori 16ga yet....but I'm happy for you guys. Someday I'll have mine

Citori

I was on the list to get one from Kones Korner this summer. Apparently they get them from Bill Hicks Guns in MPLS, and they had a shipment coming in July. Then this one showed up on Guncycle and I bought it. Now I'd love to find a sweet 16 and have it covered, but I better lay low for a while. Don't want the uranium enrichment program to resume here at home.

Chokes in ou

I planned on IC in the bottom and Mod. on the top with fiocchi number 5s or 6s.
I put an IC choke in my M2 last season and actually started dropping some birds. I had been using a IM and I might as well have been using a nerf gun. The IC really made a difference. OU is new to me. I've never shot one before. Am I on the right track?

Yes, you are right on target. I.C. & Mod., #6's in bottom I.C. barrel and #5's in top Mod. barrel should take care of most situations. Late season maybe #5's in I.C. barrel and #4's in Mod. barrel.

You are absolutely on the right track. More open choke first in the bottom barrel. I shoot IC/Mod in my 16 ga. Citori and it works fine. I use Fiocchi #6's all season but 5's are fine too. I just like a few more pellets. And it's probably just me personally but I've never been fond of different size shot in each barrel. I'm too busy reaching in my pocket to reload to have to worry about which size shot I have in my hand. I understand the concept but have never bought into it. But hey, if that's what you like and it works for you, go for it.

chokes and loads

Thanks for the info. I probably need to stick with same shot size too. I got sausages for fingers and I can't keep track of what's in what pocket, even on a good day. I like the idea of two chokes though. Darn, I'm going on a hunt to Milford Hills tomorrow and it's gonna be wet. I wanted to try out the new gun, but I have to break out the Benelli plastic stocked gun for the rain. Can't get the new toy wet. Oh well, I'll still be hunting and the dog with get a good workout.
