I had a beagle that would flat run the hide off a rabbit but would not handle and would bite me when I would snatch him. I did e collar and he would run out of the area. Had this dog as a pup. I was going to put one in him when a hunting partner said he would take him. He had same problem with handling and he bit him when he tried to load him in the box. He took the dog in the house and let him sleep there at night on and off for several weeks, that made an improvement. 6 months or so later he beat me in a field trail with the dog, he would handled for anyone and we hunted him for 10 years till he died. I still think someone was beating him with my jacket when not around, he hated me. my 2 cents.
