This is both a classifieds post and a what should I expect from this, post. Does anyone other than a city/county/animal control business regularly use equipment this size?
What I would say on fb is..
This is one of the nicer units made, from my research. $25k+ for a new unit right now. This one is probably 10-15 years old, still largely in good shape.
If I was a serious hunter or getting into this business I would keep it, considering the cost, but it's too nice for me to just let it sit. After researching it originally, I traded $ome $weet toys for it that I didn't have indoor storage for anymore, thinking I might manage to use it or get some of my hunting friends to use it. They saw it and said I was in WAY over my head, even on dry land
I figured it was worth max 30% of a new one, 25% at worst. It was a gamble, though..
So if I have to post an asking price to start, I would say $6500. Now to counter that.. I'm a motivated seller.. and if I'm off on its value, I'd rather take my lumps now than sitting on my hands for 3 months, waiting for an offer.
Overall Dimensions: 80″wide, 52″ tall, 106″ long.
Need a 3/4 ton truck & long bed.
Smaller storage compartments are a full 80" wide.
Larger compartments per side are:
(1) Front 25″W x 35″H x 40″ Deep
(3) 25″W x 26″H x 40″ Deep
Note- taillights included, were removed and are in box.
-Frame is 2″ x 2″ welded steel tubing with a superstructure of 1″ x 1″ welded steel tubing
-All steel is hot dipped galvanized before covering
-12 gauge stainless doors, hinged from the front.
-Interior ceiling is .050 aluminum with a roof of 1/8″ diamond plate
-Int & Ext Material are 20 ga stainless-Ceiling contains 4″ foam insulation, 1” in the front wall, floor and between compartments. The insulation provides a 15-20 deg cooler temps.
-Swinging partitions make it pass through from one side of bed to the other
-It has the AC unit on top (working status unknown) with a compressor under the hood of the truck it was on, which costs thousands more ($8k) in addition to the box, when ordered.
Problems:
-Couple exterior compartment handles and internal latches are broken/damaged (willing to order new from manufacturer and sell with box, if needed)
-Some areas of slightly damaged metal, dents, some corrosion etc.
Located in Southeast michigan. Willing to coordinate with a shipper if needed. I will be in Dallas either end of January or in february. Trailering it would really be something.. prefer to fly, but have made the drive a few times.
I figured it was worth max 30% of a new one, 25% at worst. It was a gamble, though. .
More info in case it's helpful:

-Some areas of slightly damaged metal, dents, some corrosion etc.. weathering & use.
