By the grace

Since there appeared to never have been a post in this section, here is a thumbs up to West, by the grace of God, Virginia and the ruffed grouse hunting which in many ways defined Best in the early portion of the previous century.
A shame that those days exist only in the record.

When one suggests pheasants in West Virginia, one considers ruffed grouse, the Native Pheasant. Not the invasive Chinese ringneck.

In fact, when I purchased my first WV hunting license in 1976, the regulations indicated Ruffed Grouse (aka Native Pheasant).
