We hunted sw of casper last year. The locals said there wasnt as many around as previous years but we did pretty well. The difficult thing about sage grouse hunting is the endless amount of perfect cover. I know this sounds crazy but its like off shore fishing. You've got to find them. The antelope hunters were helpful. Ask them , they will tell you if they've seen birds. I will message you. Might go to sd ourselves afterward.
