I just got home from a trip to Wheeler TX. The Bob's held tight in the the cold weather and my GWP's were on fire. We pushed 5 coveys in 5 hrs. I took 11 birds. One true double with my SxS 28. What a difference the rains made!!!
 
Old shelter belts on 380 acres. Sand, love grass big Bue stem and lots of plum thickets. We only hunted 11 to 4. Got out there late due to bad road conditions and stopped so the birds had time to recover before dark. I left the west side alone so I could take a doe this morning. "management hunt". I flushed three more coveys walking to the tree blind this morning.
 
Sounds great, always good to give them time to covey back up before roosting time.:cheers: I'm heading out in the morning, just a bit west of you.:D
