wow

great pic. don't know where you are at. in kansas the season is still on. they look like great bow shots that i could handle. years ago in kansas at least the western half when i would be pheasant hunt i would say, wow! look at the turkey, now when i pheasant hunt i say wow! there's a pheasant, big change this year
 
nervous birds

looking back at those pic. just notice a rooster. those hens look kinda contented to me, from my years of shooting turkey, as they near the blind it seems that the hens are really nervous, the males mostly don't seem to give a damn, have had hen within 3 feet of me, maybe they could hear my hear beat, dunno. while they were close, something seemed to bother them
 
struts

from my experience, toms strut at least a little all year. i winter hunt them and see it all the time, not to the extent as in the spring but they do it. getting a little off track, it is possible to get elk to bugle year around also.
