Trying New Place Near Home

I do most of my hunting in NW where I have some friends with farm ground. But my local cousin just called and said his hand spotted pheasants in one of his fields, a rarity. Cousin's farm kind of "got away" from him this season resulting in lots of unintended habitat. Like the experts say, if you wants pheasants, create some habitat.

Yes, there were pheasants! Didn't bag anything, but it was tough to get close. Very noisy cover and very little understory of grass. Put up one quail covey from which the other guy bagged one. Still, it was great seeing pheasants where none had been for quite some time. Needs a snowfall.
