Outdoor Dog Kennel

New to the forum and have searched it, but can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for, so hoping this thread will get me there! Getting a new GSP pup next week and unlike most, my dogs are not house dogs. I know, I'm so cruel. But, I have transformed my old 10x10 well house into my dogs kennel. The walls and ceiling are insulated ish (it's old), and ive cut 2 holes in the sidewall so each dog can get out of the building themselves. My lab's side goes out to the widey open so she can roam the farm and still get back inside to eat/drink, get out of the weather etc. The pups side will go out to the chainlink kennel/run on concrete, but still be contained to where she can't roam free.
Anyways, the building isn't heated, but it is insulated a bit, so i'm not concerned about summer time, I run a box fan in there to keep air moving and open the walk in door on my labs side so help even more airflow and she'll be able to get out onto the concrete in the shade as well, but winter time, with a GSP will be new territory for me. Both dogs have dog houses inside the building, but is she going to be good enough with her dog house and a straw bed inside the dog house that is inside the building, or do I need to add a heat lamp/hound heater etc.? TIA!

Same. I have insulated dog houses for my lab and springer, and put straw in their dog houses in the winter and they're perfectly fine. I do put them in my heated garage overnight when it's below 0, or during blizzard-like conditions, but otherwise they've never had any issues.
With a heated well house and dog houses your dogs should be very comfortable in the Winter.

The well house isn't heated, just insulated, but they have a dog house with straw inside the well house, so I'm thinking she'll be ok.

Dogs insulate themselves in tight quarters. The house should be big enough to get into and turn around. If it is too big, they aren't as warm. It can be zero out, and my dogs come out of the dog den II with steam pouring off them.
