Unfortunately, Echo was injured on day 1 of my annual trip, so we did not participate in the hunt yesterday or today.
1. There is a lot of CRP that is now hay. I was stunned at the bails of hay on both public (ex) and private that I regularly hunt.
2. Yuma got hit hard by hail. Many of the public fields that I hunt had limited cover, and very few birds. Even the private fields that I hunt had cover crops vs. corn/milo.
3. We found birds but not in numbers like the last 2 years. We executed when provided the opportunity.
Hopefully, Echo recovers quickly, and we are back at it soon.
I hope everyone is having success. Here are the videos.
