New truck

I’ve always had toppers but when I got a new F150 in March decided to try a bed cover. I am in my mid 70’s and it gives me better visibility and my dog always rides in the back seat anyway. I spent a lot of effort researching bed covers and decided on the Tectonics. I’ve only had it a couple months but love it so far. Great quality, very secure, full bed access, strong (can put me and my lawn chair on top of it), and I can take it entirely off in about 5 minutes.
Thanks for the feedback. I really like the looks of the Tectonics. I am also in a similar situation in that my dog typically rides upfront. Really, the only time I really need the topper is when we make our annual trip to South Dakota. With 3 or 4 guys and 2 or 3 dogs, the topper comes in handy.

I highly recommend getting the extended warranty through Toyota. These extended warranty's even cover things like brakes, and I think now you can go 10 year or 125,000 miles. It covers everything like the original warranty. Shop around for it, but you might have a hard time beating this dealership. Ask for Troy.

A 22 with only 26K on it and you're going to replace it next year. No wonder everything is so expensive in our economy. Its people making purchases like this that drives up the prices. My 2014 Yukon has 211,000 on it and I will drive it til it gets 300,000 on it. Then if it needs it a new crate GM motor. I can put in a new GM motor for what you will pay on sales tax for a new one. People are not resourceful when it comes to owning a vehicle. A new truck will cost you close to $10,000 in sales tax and property tax when you drive it off the lot. Then the property tax continues each year. Just doesn't make any financial sense to buy them every 5 years.
Don’t you only pay sales tax on the difference in KS when you trade in a used vehicle for a new one? That is what I understand from my buddies in KS. As a retired autoworker, I have a flat price determined by Ford, not the dealer. No destination or delivery cost. The only additional cost is sales tax. I buy the vehicle cheaper than the dealer can. And for those of you that have rust problems, if you buy a Ford truck, the bodies do not rust- period!

Yep you pay on the difference. Also if you sell your own truck in Kansas and 6 months later buy another, you still only pay on the difference. I believe that grace period is 6 months. Most people don't know that. If you sell a truck to a family member you also don't pay sales tax. But it is ridiculous to have to pay tax when you buy a used vehicle from an individual. It is no one's business what you buy or what you pay. For all they know, you could have traded a horse for it or any other type of trade.

My first two wives seemed enthusiastic about driving in blizzards, especially at night. The 3rd one wasn’t so inclined, but she did enjoy being the ice “tester” once the lake froze, or at least had a decent skim of ice…at least on a snowmobile. Probably should have waited longer to take the truck out there. My current fiancée keeps delaying the wedding, but I think she’ll be a real good helper around here…I’ve got some asbestos abatement projects, she is more svelte than me and can probably shimmy her way into those little nooks and crannies that get no ventilation or air flow and take care of business…she has sores and such on her face, so she won’t wear a mask, but these jobs should be quick…that whole thing is overhyped…
Please tell me every wife/girlfriend is also Asian!
