Ok guys just getting into pheasants and being from Pa I pretty much hunt farm raised birds. I hunt over my pointer now who is holding point great. I was using fiocchi golden pheasant 7.5 shot but they are no longer making that in 7.5. They make it in 6 shot but I’m not sure if that’s too large being my shots are so close. I know I can wait but not sure my son can lol. What shells and shot size do y’all recommend me? Thanks guys

A 6 usually does just fine. Alot of guys use even larger shot size. I usually shoot 5s or 6s when I'm hunting pheasants only. 6 and 7.5 when I'm in a quail and pheasant state.

7.5 great for pen raised birds IMO and other companies produce, the supply is the issue now. I do like rio 7. 5 16 gauge
First day or two on Wild birdsi start with7.5 then.move to 6 , by late November I uses a mix of 6 first barrels then 5 shot
