Nephew’s Christmas Present #Funcle

I am fortunate to be able to take my nephews hunting from time to time each fall. The youngest is 11 and on Nov 6 he shot his first rooster and followed up later in the day with #2 & #3. He proudly tucked each shell casing in his trophy pocket in his vest. I got all casings from him and took the tail off for a tail mount. I then tested my creativity to the max and came up with a Christmas present for Brekson that he can treasure forever. So mad I just didn’t do a mount of that beautiful bird.

That is awesome and will provide just as much enjoyment for him in 30 years as a mounted bird, likely even more because his uncle did it.

It sounds like the sharp-shooter will have plenty of opportunties to get one mounted. Nice work on taking him out and the display you created.

I love it! You just gave me some great ideas. We are deer hunters at my house. Non of the kid’s first deer were huge trophies but I wanted to do something with them that they could keep forever.
