Kansas farmers going to COTTON?

Was listening to an AM Ag Radio station last week and
they interviewed a Kansas Farmer/???
She said some farmers are switching from wheat
to cotton!!!

What affect do you think that would have if it takes off?
 
Cotton has been around here for at least 20 yrs. Some of the first I remember seeing was a walk in patch in Dickinson county. We were shooting doves out of it and there were little pheasants running around in it. To me it seem s more inviting than beans? Seems to me like more winter wheat around here the last 2 yrs. I hunt a little bit in Pratt and Kiowa county, tons of cotton around.
