Harvest Update

kick them up

Here is a message I got this morning from out west of salina.

Patrick and I were out this weekend and saw a few pheasants. We cut about 80 acres of milo and saw 3 hens and 3 roosters. Most of the milo had not been cut as of Saturday. Everyone was trying to get as much cut as possible before the expected rain on Tuesday.

Kinda sad but at least there are three and I anit saying where:D:D

Kick'em Up!

I'll just cover everything West of Salina and hope you are not fibbing about there being 3 roosters out there.

I talked to a farmer friend in Kansas yesterday and he still has 30 acres of standing corn left to cut....If the weather cooperates he should be done in time for the opener.
Sadly, he has only seen 6 roosters in the last week while harvesting.
I think this is a season for high hopes but low expectations.
Good luck to all this weekend!

So your blocking for me then:D

That seems lazy. I'll start at the Colorado border and you start at Salina, and we'll try to pinch them somewhere in the middle... If we can manage to herd the entire pheasant population to the center, and shoot reasonably straight, we may get enough for dinner...

Anybody want to take North and South? I'm sure a pinch would be more effective if somebody started at Nebraska and somebody started at Oklahoma.
