Grouse and woodcock in the bag!

Winter came on Friday! Snow in the eve and overnight. What a difference from the previous weekend when we deemed it too hot to hunt and went golfing instead.

Saturday it rained all day and was very windy. Hard to keep working properly in that much wind. Dog can't hear me, I can't hear dog. Managed a couple grouse and woodcock each. First go on Saturday scored a double on grouse. Not a bad way to start. Nailed a woodcock on another nice point before missing two on Sunday morning. We've got the fever now!

Nice job on a Grouse double. Not many can brag about that (I hope to have one, one day).
It's good to hear about some birds out. I'm headed up north the weekend of the 25th to chase Grouse. I'm waiting for a few more leaves to drop.

Leaves were dropping fast this past weekend. I couldn't see my lawn and the deck was covered up in Vilas Co. Early season I hunt more mature aspen so as to have some chance at a shot. This weekend I'll move to younger cover along swamp edges.
