Got my woodcock mount back

I've always thought woodcock were cool looking birds. Opening day of the Wisconsin pheasant season this past fall my younger pup put this bird up. It's mature, the colors are nice and the beak isn't shot up or broken so I decided to have it done.

They are apparently one of the more difficult birds to mount because of their very thin skin to the point some taxidermists will refuse them. I'm pleased with how it turned out and thought I'd share.

Brehm taxidermy out of East Troy, WI did the bird. I took it there in October so turn around wasn't bad. A friend took a woodduck in at the same time with me and it turned out really well.

Hopefully I have reason to go see the guy again...:)

Very nice!!! Good turn around as well!!! I am still waiting on 2 Roosters I took in last Summer. I don't mind because the guy only does birds and is good at it. Fun to see a Woodcock!!! Thanks:cheers:
