Gore Tex?

Would anyone be able to let me know about how long a pair of Gore -Tex boots will last before they are no longer water proof? I have had a pair of Field and Stream Gore-Tex boots for 3 seasons (Hunting CRP and Milo) and paid about $150 for them, but toward the end of last season I started to notice wet socks which was not fun. I'm not opposed to spending more money, but wanted to know if this is a common problem or I just needed to get a better boot. Thanks for your comments.

Pointer Man, I've had a pair of gore-tec boots for about 5 years now and so far I haven't had any problems with them...I know most of my huntin buddies wear them too and I dont think that they've had any either. I would say that for the money they're one of the better boots that you can get, thats just my opinion though.
