Garmin Alpha vs. Sportdog 2.0

I am seriously looking at buying a GPS collar with stimulation.
It seems most people have and like the Alpha.
The only reason I am even considering the Sportdog is it appears it is considerably easier to change the stimulation level and the buttons are on the side for tone and stimulation.

I hunt with a lab, the range isn't a big issue as long as I can get a mile or so out of it. I am planning on making an out of state trip this season, the tracking part of it seemed like a good insurance policy if for some reason my dog decided to take off 10 hours from home.
I rarely stimulate hunting but I do want the option.
I use the tone button a lot so that is very important.

Any advice or review would be appreciated!

I had two friends that had the sport dog Tec 1. It did not hold up well for them.
Both now have Garmin Alpha units.

I have an Alpha- the tracking option is awesome and does give you a bit of confidence in knowing where your dog is when it is out of sight. For me- the e-collar is a little cumbersome since the handheld is pretty big. Once you get used to it- it works pretty well though.
