Distance of a bird pen to a dog kennel

Would a bird pen close to a dog run effect either dog or bird. I'm in the process of building a dog run and was planning on building a flight pen to hold some birds for training but space is limited and they must be close together. Dogs will not be in pen all the much but will it effect the birds or dogs being close together.

I had the same problem, decieded to go with it, and it hasn't ben an issue. The dogs can get to within 5-6 feet of the pen, but they can't see the birds, however, I know they know the birds are there. I've never let the dogs see the birds, but they hear and smell them for sure. I also don't let the dogs see me bring birds out. I invisioned complete dog craziness, but everything is pretty normal. I say go for it.

Thanks for the input. Not sure yet on what type of pen to build but it will be about 10x10 maybe just a place to hold birds for a few days until I train so they can stretch their wings and not be in a tight box.
