Anybody been out in this heat?

Nice water tank! Good call, what a scorching September in Montana. I've been out twice, but did not get a burd with the 28 ga. Pee shooter.
Yeah I got my sept. chicken off my back. 2+ hr drive to hunt maybe 1.5 hrs in an evening.. I like evening even with the heat. The grass is really tall this year a lot of small rains but nothing heavy enough to fill the ponds , big ones are dry. The chickens were scattered around that stock tank in the tall grass resting in the matted down cattle beds. Supposed to be 90’s again next week , I won’t go out again for another week or two.

If it cools off,I would like to hunt for a few hours. My yellow lab is 11,and I need to limit her time, but she still wants to go.

Try to hunt near an old cattle pond, tank or spring fed creek the dog can lay in to cool off. And if the property has already seen a few hunters, leave the 28 gauge at home and bring a 12 with some magnum shells.

I'm probably shooting the 1957 sweet 16 Browning most of the time,or the 870 super mag.12.

I enjoy getting out every weekday morning before sunrise and hunting early morning until it is in the 70s.
Hun country allows me to stretch my legs and you never know when a covey encounter will happen.
Lab is wet from morning dew, nice that this fall no morning fog hunts which sometime occur with high pressure.
