Any quail?

Just wondering if anyone is running across any quail so far this year. I haven't but have not really been in quail areas....

I have not in Colorado, I haven't however I know a buddy who did out in far eastern El Paso county.

I got into a whole mess of them in SW Kansas though...

I've ran into a few coveys this year around Holyoke. They sure do hold tight and usually don't get up unless you step on them or the dog locates them.

I also bumped into a big covey (~25 birds) near Holyoke. Really surprised me. Like chadsbritt said, they hold real tight. You better have a good dog.

Thanks everyone. Interesting folks are getting into quail around Holyoke - usually they are around the South Platte river bottom and SE Co, but of course do spread into other areas.

Last week I was able to get out and get my limit of Scailed quail on saturday and 6 Bobs on Sunday. Busted a god number of coveys hunting walk in

That sounds great. I've been thinking about going down to the SE part of state but haven't heard too many reports on how it is. Sounds like there is definitely some quail to be found....
