Easily limited each day on public land. Hunting pressure was light. Wednesday kinda' sucked with the rain and ice, but the birds were really grouped up on Thursday and Friday. Saw birds all along 212 on my drive home Saturday morning.

I suppose this is just the way it is. But, it's a hard hit to take. The area I hunt doesn't have a whole lot of public areas and losing 3 almost makes me think I will need to relocate next year.

My hunting plans are getting screwed up and I'm considering coming out the week of Thanksgiving. What can I expect for pressure? I'm assuming the out of state hunters will be pretty minimal. But, I'd think there'd be a lot of "family" home to hunt too. I'm strictly a public land and ditch...

I was scouting before shooting time a few days ago and a black pheasant flushed out of the ditch. I've seen them on game farms but never in the wild. It appeared to be a hen, but I guess I can't be sure. We saw quite a few birds in that area, so I dropped the other 2 guys off on some roads...

I'm heading out on Saturday. It looks like Sunday could have a little rain. I always come out late and usually hunt in snow, but never rain. I won't hunt in a downpour, but I will in light rain or drizzle. What do you different when it rains? Any tips?
