I'm very pleased with the 1 ounce #5 Boss shells (16 ga). I want to get some 1-1/8 ounce and was thinking about #4. But, now I'm thinking about sticking with the #5. I rarely take those long shots...most shots are over point. Thoughts?

I see Boss is selling 16 gauge 1-1/8 ounce loads at 1240 fps. Seems to me, the ones I bought a couple years ago are 1 ounce and 1300 fps. Am I right? Any noticeable difference with these 1-1/8 ounce loads? I'm thinking the #4's would be really, really nice.

I'd say bird numbers were up a bit and hunter numbers were up A LOT!

I wouldn't lose any. Because, I'm not hunting pheasants unless I have my own dogs.

When I notice guys are missing crossing shots I tell them that they're probably not missing ahead of the bird. I leave it at that.

1425 fps is too hot for my liking.

Anyone know what the fine is in SD for crossing a fence with a shotgun?

We had 2 GSP's and a lab, so it just depends. I prefer to hunt alone, but hunting those 2 pointers together is pretty efficient.

I've never had this problem. I have had farmers come out and talk my ear off. Many times, I've had guys stop and ask if I need a ride. I've been told walking is not how you road hunt. I never had a bad experience. I'm not sure how I would react if I was abused like that for doing nothing wrong.

Isn't a truck supposed to have dust on it?

I'd just stick with Boss. I shoot a bunch of their 16 gauge bismuth and 1 ounce is all it takes.

Baseball players talk about "slowing the game down". I think it's very similar situation for wing shooters.

When I got my 16 gauge Boss, they were $300 for 200 shells...no tax...free shipping. $1.50/shell. But, I think they went up to $320 for 200 shells. Not too shabby for non-tox.
