    First day in Western Nebraska

Deer will not eat roundup ready soybeans. I suspect it's less than a good idea for us. The lack of buffers around ditches and buffers around fields for certain and mowing instead of burning same off are likely contributors as well

    First day in Western Nebraska

I knew we had been lied to when I saw the Thanksgiving notice that they were releasing birds to have some to shoot. That non native species results still in a large amount of tourism dollars that pays their salaries. I suspect that predators is part of the problem for why the species never...

    First day in Western Nebraska

Weather I'm sure has a lot to do with it. We did notice a lot of CRP that had been grazed and apparently during nesting season as it had grown back quite a bit. I agree that no need to brag about acres in the program when emergency grazing makes the ground unusable for hunting. Someone in gummit...

    First day in Western Nebraska

We hunted from Republican city to just west of McCook in public areas and it truly sucked. I will give kudos to Neb Game and fish as we walked miles of beautiful habitat every day but few birds to be found. The only question I have is with all that habitat, why have they failed to restore the...

Want to give Iowa public a try

I'd ignore most of the negative comments as gaslighting is a long-standing tradition in Iowa. The north central area holds lots of public lands, but the pressure has increased with the birds and finding them can indeed be hit or miss. Spirt lake and Strom Lake and surrounding counties usually...

2023 Iowa bird hunt pics and/or stories

Ww have hunted all over Ida,Cherokee and sac c counties this weekend put up fifty hens but few roosters. We have a few for the effort. Signs of lots of pressure recently and birds are scattered. Late season hunting might need some weather to make it viable. We have seen more hunters this week...

I talked to the game warden in iowa today.

We switched to BOSS bismuth to avoid the can we shoot lead problem. Given the amount of shooting we do in one week, it works out on price

    Public land available?

Get an Iowa sportsman atlas and find Storm Lake. Draw a 50 mile circle around in and try any of the public areas and especially those with water features and you should do well. Good Luck

    Kepa Iowa 2021

Glad to see you made it out and are getting past the problem. I've had similar issues and left you a suggestion in the other forum where you discussed your leg and knee problems. I'm looking forward to our annual trip and might need to try some of the same strategies as well. Thanks for the...

Pheasant season isn’t looking too good for me now.

So in my real life which I live because I can't drive to Iowa every weekend and Pheasant hunt and have to live vicariously thru you guys and my friends, I'm a Family Medicine Doc. I've been struggling with tendinitis in my knee and leg as well. I finally tried LISW treatment(Like lithotripsy but...
