    Lots of hunters

Goose every so often you say something that I agree with, followed by a WTF statement. If you happen to see a vehicle on the Hi line this fall with Alaska plates stop and I will share a brew with you. It will not be thatPBR crap though.

    Passing through SD…Pheasants Galore

Actually back when I was working full time it did have a bearing on my hunting. When I only had a week or two to hunt I went with the best odds. When in spite of the report I knew better and went anyway even if they said it was subpar, I regretted it. One year the report was bad, but I went...

    New guy from NW MT

Well someone who lives in the area will tell you to snake break your dog and wear snake chaps. Me who lives where there is no opportunity to snake break my dogs just waits until the temps start going down to hunt. Heat in the early season is probably more of a danger than snakes . Welcome aboard.

    Early Spring Observations

Well? The brood counts should be out shortly and what are you locals seeing. I talked to a farmer where I hunt and he thought it looked good, however another one thought the cold spring was hard on the chicks.

    Bird flu

I do think it will affect us in some ways. There are a lot of stories about migratory bird hunters having their dogs bring back more than they shot. Some of those sick birds will infect some pheasants, probably not to a great extent since pheasants don’t flock up for the most part and are not...

Wild bird hunting might be cheaper than I thought

    Importance of eCollars?

like others have said primarily safety. I have also trained in multiple venues including obedience and agility but when even a close working dog like mine step on a deer or jack rabbit they will chase no matter how well trained they are. I bought my first e collar the day after I almost lost a...

    Lots of hunters

The block program is probably the best run private land open to the public program of any state. If you have habitat and corresponding game you get more hunters. If you have crappy habitat you won’t get as many hunters. I do think that MT will have to go the way of their neighbors to the east...

Some dogs are more enthusiastic then others.

Here's my trips I've planned for fall.

As usual I will be doing the MT/ND trip this fall. Probably earlier this year as it looks like I will have a pup to pick up in early October. Than heading south, maybe Nebraska, but definitely going to try for desert quail more this year.

"Thank you" for access to land?
