There are fewer birds in that area but if you get after them early season you should be able find some. The farther north you can go the better the hunting. All the higher counts have been north of highway 20 but there are pretty decent populations all thru out the state.

Are you using 3" or 2 3/4" on those late season hunts?

4shot I have noticed that ammo is tougher to find then 12 gauge.

I have a grandson that will be bird hunting in a few more years so I would expect the same thing may happen to me.

Is this ammo worth the price? I have never used it and I don't know anyone that has so I am wondering if it's worth the cost.

I also had used an 870 12-gauge pump for years and loved hunting with it. I found a 11-87 12 gauge for sale and bought it thinking it would be a good backup if something were to happen to my 870. Well to make a long story shorter I hunt almost exclusively with the 11-87 now. I don't know...

I would rate my season as very good. I didn't shoot as many pheasants as in years past mostly because I didn't go as much but I made up for it with bobwhites. I hunt pretty much everything except waterfowl with pheasant and quail being my favorite.
