    Pointing Labs

I've seen his web site here in Idaho. I think they are great looking dogs but I'm not sure if id own one. And I have a hanging tree cow dog which is 1/4 catahoula, 1/4 Aussie, 1/4 border collie, and 1/4 kelpie. He's an amazing cow dog and works cows like those different breeds do so I can see...

    Quail hunting in south Idaho

I live in twin and haven't seen much for quail, which sucks as they are my favorite birds to hunt. My pup is only 16 weeks so I'm going to sit out one more season. I've been doing a lot of scouting tho so if I find a decent place, I will shoot you a PM.

Weight of labs and golden retrievers

Yeah, when buying my pup I got tired of people telling me that smaller labs are better for upland. Now I do agree that a small dog might not have the joint issues that bigger dogs do later in life. But I've hunted with a guy that had to chop a small female out of a thicket with a machete. Mean...

Weight of labs and golden retrievers

My last lab was like that. Around 100 pounds and could get into cattails, blackberries, and other thick brush that smaller dogs couldn't...or wouldn't.

    Shorthairador

My grandpa is a cattleman and he is a firm believer in "hybrid vigor." They way most of his bulls are cross breeds. I have a hanging tree cowdog which is a 1/4 catahoula, 1/4 border collie, 1/4 Australia shepherd, and a 1/4 kelpie. That dog is an amazing cowdog.

Leaving pup outside when I'm at work

My pup stays inside the house when I'm home but when we are at work he's outside in a kennel run. He is just about 13 or maybe 14 weeks old and we've been doing this for three weeks now. Tomorrow we are supposed to get some thunder storms and I'm worried he's going to be afraid of the storms and...

    Dog house

That's all. Three days a week I work 14 hour days. When I am not home he stays in a outdoor kennel. But when we are home, he's inside. The little guy is so clean that I have to have people stop by and let him out of his OUTDOOR kennel because he won't even pee or poop in it. And he's only ten...

    Dog house

Well the day after picking up my new puppy I tested positive for covid so I have been able to spend a lot more time with the pup than I planned. Once I go back to work he will be in an outdoor kennel/run. I'm looking for dog house recommendations. We live in southern Idaho. It get cold here...

    First night with new puppy

Hi y'all. I just got a new puppy. It's a chocolate lab and 8 weeks old. I have a question regarding good. The breeder was feeding pro plan sport 30/20. Is that a good young pup food and how much should I be feeding at this age?

    Pointing labs

I've got a question about the flush with a pointing lab. Those of you that have a pointing lab, do you flush the birds or does your dog? I hunt in some pretty nasty stuff which is why I need a brush breaking lab. I've had friends being there pointers and when they locked up there was no way for...

    Training books

Ok appreciate it. I've got another question. Normally in the past I've got an early spring dog so I could hunt them the following fall. I might have to get a summer or maybe early fall because I'm building a house and I want the yard to be done first. Is there anything wrong with the dog being...

    Training books

I am about to put a deposit down on a pointing lab from Red Label Labs. Does anyone have any experience with there dogs? I've ordered The pointing lab training book. Does anyone have any other recommendations on books or training material?
