    Looking good, sounding good. 👍

That’s how I fight…lie down on the ground, fetal position or snow angels, depending…then, when the other guy has written me off, I attack…works good.

    Looking good, sounding good. 👍

Yeah, probably that…they were both flat as pancakes on the gravel…from my vantage.

    Looking good, sounding good. 👍

I drove to my ground while a strong wind was blowing…I parked on one of the corners, and looked west down the gravel road…something was on the road, flapping in the wind which hadn’t been there a few hours earlier…it was flapping a few feet in the air…slowly drove that way, two roosters stood up...

    Are you staying home?

That kind of fear doesn’t pervade my paranoid mind…loss of health scares me.

    Are you staying home?

I go visit my mom in the nursing home and see the people “living” there…they’d trade everything they’ve got for a few good weeks of health and freedom…stay home if your family won’t eat otherwise…other than that, live while you can.

    Looking good, sounding good. 👍

In my hunting area, heard lots of crowing this am, saw lots of birds driving around…usually I see tons in April, good #’s in May, not so many in June…following the trend…month ago big #’s, today good #’s…a month from now not so many…nesting and growth of cover in play as summer progresses...

    Moisture coming….

The US drought monitor map has sure changed for the better over the past 4 weeks! At least the areas that I focus on…👍🍺

    Moisture coming….

I saw the color-coded map that shows the 4 different date ranges for re-establishment of power, put out by the electric utility. Thousands of poles snapped….

    28 gauge ammo

I hate losing birds, and I’m not likely to pass on shots, so I’m usually shooting a 12 gauge, 1.25 oz of lead #5’s at 1200 fps…nothing extreme, but lethal. I will carry a 16 double on occasion as well, which is fine for me. And a 20 on the odd occasion as well with an oz of #5 lead. My...

    28 gauge ammo

For sharpies and huns, yes. 7.5 shot, 3/4 oz, or 15/16 oz…I’m not a ballistics guy, but I read a lot, there are those who say patterns may get compromised when stuffing too much shot in a shell.. I’m told 3/4 oz is optimal for the 28 gauge. Just passing on what I’ve read and heard.

    Moisture coming….

2005, lots of SD lost power for 10-20 days…20,000 poles went down…my generator ran the farmhouse pretty well, smart guys in my gang turned the power to the line off, then we backfilled into the washer or dryer? Does that sound correct? Opened a window and ran the cord into the house to the...

Extreme wind, snow, freezing rain…15,000 homes without power

    Moisture coming….

Think this one had the potential to be pretty harmful…downed power poles everywhere in the NW part of the state…

    Evening drive tonight….

It has varied, but I’ve seen lots of each…lots. Probably 3 or 4 hens to roosters, but you can see roosters from a long ways away, so brilliant right now. What nature wants, focus on them, not noticing the hens. Drove 20 miles of gravel around 7:30 am today, saw 50-75 easy, maybe more...
