Here's my last video of the season (filming 2024, that is). 2025 is already well underway.

    Gifts for hunters

So I need some ideas here. What are the kind of gifts when it comes to bird hunting that you wouldn't think to purchase for yourself, but would be ecstatic to receive as a gift? I'll start: my favorite hunting gift I ever got was a set of bird straps, as pictured here. I never thought to buy...

    Ground-pounding opinions

I think you're gonna have a hard time getting guys to admit they hunt with their safeties off. There's a lot of judgment that's thrown around when you find out a guy doesn't like keeping his safety on. I may not agree with it, but I'm not going to sit here and say it's impossible to be safe...

    Ground-pounding opinions

So i came across a video taken early in my hunting career. It was one where I ground pounded a pheasant in the middle of an open field. I'm not proud of it. I don't feel good about it. And the best thing I can say is that it ended a long drought of birds in the bag. I still feel guilty...

What does your dog do when you miss a bird?

My dogs are actually quite forgiving. They'll run until I call "no bird" and move on to the next one. I had some major accuracy issues early in the season, and I wish they had got mad at me. I deserved it...

One shot I whiffed on twice recently

Straightaways are my nemesis. I miss 3 out of 5 shots on those. Crossing left to right, no matter the speed, that's my money shot.

    2025/2026 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Thanks for making this post. It's hard to find a social media group that'll let you post videos for some reason. Here's a hunt I did last year in utah. It's not performing as well as well as my other videos. I'd love to change that, as I really like this video in the cinematography, I learned...

Starting a new group on Facebook

So I've been having a hard time finding Facebook groups that welcome the posting of YouTube videos that I made, so I went ahead and created a group myself. You are all cordially invited to join. You dont have to be a creator, in fact, I think the potential audience would be pretty dang...

    Hanging birds

I do mine for 24 hours. No regrets. They taste great, and no one gets sick. Though I wouldn't wait on one that got gut shot though. If it stinks when its fresh, clean it straight away.

    No limit, no problem

Thanks! Wasn't expecting it, but it's welcome all the same!

    No limit, no problem

Sometimes it's just fun to watch the dogs learn in real time. This is from a good hunt that I did last year.

    new pup coming!!

Its official!! My first bird dog was whelped on 9Feb! I'm WAY stoked! My wife and I are officially in full preparation mode! I had a couple questions. I could probably cold have looked up this information on any general dog rearing advise forum, but I wanted to hear from you guys as like...

    Fortune favors the prepared

So, my family is set to introduce a Brittany pup into our family this spring. For me, this means getting all kinds of prepared to train my first four-legged hunting partner. So I wanted to pick the brains of some of the more experienced dog handlers on the board. The only question I have...

    Material suggestions please!

After many weeks of research, I finally found a breeder I like. We shifted gears a little, and we're going to get a Brittany rather than a GWP. So here's the thing. I want to be as prepared for this pup as one can possibly be. My wife and I have raised quite a few dogs in our time, so...
