I hit one over the middle of thick cattails today. With the wind, and momentum, that bird landed 20yards in the wheat stubble! (true story.)

Got two shots at a sharptail today. (saw two and another covey of huns as well as bagging some cocks. Missed the sharpie as it was going about 300mph in the wind, but at least saw my first ones.

Cut them right where they change color. The quills have some pressure in them that is released. Twist to remove. Still not easy, but easier.

1st time in ND, today is day two and dog met a quill pig. SMH. about 15 quills to the snout. He was not happy. But killed a cock about 25 minutes after the last quill came out, so not too bad.

I have driven past Greenwood many times. Seen a good number of birds there when there is snow on the ground. Always wanted to hunt that. I also stop and buy shrimp at the farm just east. They're good!
