What do you shoot ? What loads ?

Shotgun shell question. I carry a Berretta 686 20 ga. and a 20 ga. SS , I don't normally have the opportunity to shoot quail and pheasant in the same day, I realize depending on the cover its not necessarily going to happen but what loads do you typically carry ?

Absolutely ! It's a couple of friends or your spouse ( if they enjoy it ) or both and the dogs that ultimately make the trip a pleasant memory .

I've been to S.D. once , early Nov. of '15. It was pretty much everything I expected. We hunted private property ( Gregory area ) we didn't limit every day but were into birds every day. Overall the only thing I would do differently is stay longer ! We only hunted 3 / 4 days , 20 hrs or so both...

Hi Justin , we'll be there (Lucas) in January from Va. would love to spend a day getting our "feet on the ground" so to speak. We've never hunted KS. Bringing Brittany's and Lab. Email @ birddogs4evr@cox.net... no worries either way !

Didn't mean to imply you said it , it was a in general comment ( never a good idea ) anyway done with that. Guess I might have to invest in a tracking collar ( never used anything more than a bell )

While I don't agree with the person who says "if your not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about" we have sacrificed all of our privacy for the sake of convenience. I still believe Big Tech and our government are out of control to some degree.

One way or the other we'll find the birds ...

May have something to do with the early season time frame , the concerns come from people who have been towards the beginning of hunting season, possibility ? According to them thier dogs could scarcely get through the cover ( GSP's ). I would think the January time frame would help with that ... ??

Another question, doing some prehunt homework. I've been talking with friends who've had mostly unpleasant experiences with CRP grass. We are hunting from a "base camp" in Lucas with a plan to scout in all directions and hunt accordingly. Are we likely to find cover other than CRP. FYI , we plan...

Having never been to Kansas ( coming in Jan.,some of those evil non- residents ) Va. has nothing even close to this program so we are extremely excited about it ! Thanks in advance to all the resident hunters who maintain and promote this !!
