    Best Roto Molded Kennel

I have a momarsh cot that fits in the Cabela's intermediate perfectly. If your dog is wet, it drains the water away and keeps the dog out of the water as well. You can also use it for place training. I also had an insulated pad from fleet farm that fit in perfectly as well, but the dog chewed...

    Trouble with Whoa teaching

I had the best luck with a 30 foot check cord with a half hitch around the abdomen. I would walk behind my dog and when I wanted her to whoa, I would lightly tug on the check cord. If she moved, I picked her up and put her back where I wanted her. Make sure you release her as well using...

F.A.I.R. Iside Prestige in 12 gauge....what would you do?

Hey everyone, Earlier in the year I posted I was looking for a 20 or 16 gauge SxS shotgun. I've been looking around and I found a new in box Iside Prestige in 12 gauge for 2 grand. Single trigger, pretty good wood, 5 chokes...everything that I wanted...except the gauge. I'm not against 12...

    Best Roto Molded Kennel

I went with a Cabela's intermediate size kennel and put a momarsh cot in it and I couldn't be happier for a fraction of the cost. It sits behind the passenger seat of my truck. Came with keys to lock it, tie downs, and a safety bar that is removable to prevent accidental opening.

Just curious, why is the original box so important?

    2024 gear review...what worked and what didn't?

I have the same Garmin set-up and its awesome!

Training after 1 year old...now what?

I'm sure I am biased, but Penny my griff just seems special compared to the labs I've had in the past. I do think that genetics have played a huge role in her instincts. I was just amazed at how quickly she picked up on her training. Don't get me wrong, there are things that I know I need to...

Training after 1 year old...now what?

I honestly have zero interest in doing these. I know guys who love it, but it's just not for me.

    2024 gear review...what worked and what didn't?

Now that 2024 is officially in the books, what gear worked well for you and what didn't? Worked well: Cabelas instinct prairie runner pants. I loved them. They were comfortable for me in all the temps I hunted in this year and I thought they handled the thorns like a champ. Vented sides...

Training after 1 year old...now what?

My griff Penny will turn 1 year old on February 13th. She is obviously potty trained, kennels in the truck, knows heel, whoa, here, down, sit, knows kennel in the house, has successfully hunted pheasants this year, has held point while hunting (some birds have flushed wildly obviously), ALWAYS...

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

To really give you credit for being crazy, what model was the O/U that you traded away?

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

Scheels did not have a sale running on tyrolian hunting outfits when I was browsing so I skipped right over those.

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

I decided to go a different direction. I was on Scheels website and noticed that a bunch of the Orvis stuff was considerably discounted. I ordered a jacket, vest, light pullover, and a long sleeve moisture wicking T-shirt (all with blaze orange by the way) for less than the cost of the two...

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

Just to be clear, I always have a blaze orange hat and blaze on my vest. During WI gun season for deer, if you are pheasant hunting, you have to have more blaze on yourself than if you are pheasant hunting when it's not gun deer season. I would never do any upland hunting without a blaze hat...

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

I'm not looking for a vest. I'm looking at Chief Upland jackets.

Thanks, I hunt mostly in Wisconsin for pheasant and grouse. I appreciate the response. Happy New Year to you!

I appreciate the effort to respond, but you didn't answer the question at all.

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

I am looking at purchasing a Chief Upland jacket...actually 2. The early season and the mid season. I want to take advantage of the 50 dollars off if you spend 250 but both jackets are out of stock in my size for the blaze orange models. However, the earth tones are in stock which are green...

    Disappointed

One of the worst parts about Cabelas now IMO, is purchasing a gun. It takes forever to get waited on and if you decide to pull the trigger, it takes 3-4 people to sign off on the paperwork and sale itself. I try my hardest not to purchase firearms from that place if at all possible.
