Grouse report

Friends of mine just hunted grouse for a week. They go every year and have a place. Said it was the worst numbers they have seen in years. I was going to go with them but went pheasant hunting in ND instead. Good choice.

When I was a kid, and I told my dad I want to hunt pheasants, my old man did just what you are doing. He put a bb gun in my hands so he could watch my maturity level, and gun handling. I think it's a great idea, and my hat is off to you for raising your son well.
 
In the Illinois opener this year we had a 12 year old with a 20ga 1100 and a 9 year old with a bb gun. We kicked some deer out of some CRP and the 9 yr old took a shot at them.

When we got back to the trucks later, I asked who shot the deer because one dropped about 300 yards away. He eyes got as big as pie plates! :D

Thank you sir! I'm trying my best to make responsible hunters/conservationists out of my boys.
