Has anyone else noticed a lack of hens this year? Last Saturday we hunted Los Banos NWR and got 2 roosters and didn't see one hen (we usually flush 5 or 6), same at Grey Lodge the 2 times we hunted there. Even up in the rice fields in Richvale we only saw 6 hens in the 14 days we hunted up there.
So to date we have taken 10 wild roosters over my dogs and only flushed 6 hens. I hope they are out there hiding well or we're really going to be in trouble next year.
