Vermillion highlands

Hi, I saw that vermillion highlands opens in December and I was wondering if the bird numbers are any good and how bad the hunting pressure is on opener? I saw a post on here from 2008 that said the numbers were low because of high predator numbers, is that still true? Thanks!

Bird numbers were really low last year. Hunting pressure is above average. I usually try it once a year. One year I did miss a rooster there!

Vermillion highlands???

It is a state research area with a limited hunting season just south of the citys next to Rosemount MN.

My cousin would go out there occasionally and he said it is absolutely not worth going on weekends. Way too many people on a small area. He said if you can go in the morning during the week you can maybe pick up a bird if you're lucky. It isn't somewhere I'd spend a lot of time.
