Shot size for pen raised birds

Hey guys, I'm going to hunt at a preserve up here in Northern North Dakota. Last time I did this, I just used my normal 5 shot Prairie Storms. Unfortunately, that turned a good portion of some of my birds into pheasant milkshakes...

What type of shells do you guys use for the more cooperative pen raised birds?

And dont use your good shells at the preserve. Cheap no. 7 or 8's will be fine. Some guys gauge down too at the preserve for more of a challenge. I hunt with a 12 gauge on wild birds. I roll with the 410 at the preserve

And many bird farms take the question out of your hands by limiting the shot size to 7.5 or maybe 6.

Better make sure that they don't require steel shot. Two of the preserves I go to require non-lead of some sort. If that is the case, I would suggest #4 in basic steel.
