After driving 12 hours each way and four stops for gas we are back home with my nephews first dog. He is two and one big lover. We received him for free as the current owners couldn't take him with and a neighbor re homed him with us. Good signs right off the bat. Nicely was pointing tweety birds at the truck stop. Hehehe. Needs some work but should be a great dog for him.

A happy boy doesn't even begin to describe him. Now he is responsible for training him, vet bills and feeding him. His parents and I are not going to let him fail but this is his dog and he knows it. Should be a great summer of training and can't wait for the fall.
 
Caring for a dog is definitely a great way to promote responsibility. Looks like they're bonding great already - should make for many fantastic years ahead!
