Huron will be our base camp starting next Friday. Looking for some local knowledge on where to go for a good meal.

the hangar is good...a bit upscale...the lodge is good...service may be a bit sketchy...primetime on the south end of town is good...for breakfast and maybe lunch, find the diner in the building where the bowling alley is on the north side of town...KICKS ABSOLUTE ASS!!!!!!!!!! Also, a donut shop opens early...like 5 am...near the wells fargo bank...really good stuff!!!! a couple good mexican joints as well...don't know their names...large hispanic population in town...hope this helps. a sports bar in that same complex where the diner is was OK...just ok...

Following on BBs post, the breakfast spot I think he mentions is the Plains by the big pheasant off of rte 14 less than 1mile east of 37
We like the Scoreboard Bar and Grill in downtown Huron great ribeye steak sandwich. We go to the Mexican restaurant south of town by Walmart
You should check out Runnings Farm and Fleet next door. Very nice sporting goods section
Good luck!

Thanks guys, even with the reports we have high hopes. We will make the best of it and learn a lot about the area. Running our dogs through pheasant country and getting paid for it (vacation ) for a week, we won't complain.

Went to Bucky's restaurant and lounge this summer and they had some good food as well. Plains has pretty good food as well.

For as Home Town as it gets don't forget "Minola's" beer and sandwiches on 3rd street. Awesome local hang out where you walk behind the counter into the ancient meat cooler to grab your own brew from a very good selection and order a mega sandwich while chatting with very friendly locals. It's an institution in Huron.
