Germination of switchgrass seed from 2007?

This past weekend I was talking to my brother about the switch that Iâ??m planting next month. To my surprise, he responded with â??hey, I think I have some switchgrass seed in the barn.â?

After digging through assorted seed bags, I found this.

I was surprised to see that the germination is listed as zero. The reading that I did on calculating percent pure live seed always uses examples with pretty high germination.

Is this seed still good?

Do I need to do anything â??specialâ? with it prior to planting this Spring?

GSP, Under the germination date you see the PLS [pure live seed] That is the germination estimate at the time of the test.
If the seed was kept dry, insect and mouse free should still grow.
97 is a way back so the PLS has dropped significantly.
Like UGUIDE sez plant it thick.

It is actually from 2007, not '97. Regardless, thanks for the advice. I will post how it works out.

Oh yeah, 97 was a typo. Seed would not be much good from 97.
Keep us posted on the Switch Grass.
I have 5 acres with Switch in it, this will be the 4th year. Had good seed in 09, hope it thinkens up a little.
