Boondocking

I use a Flippac on my Tacoma. Has a deep cycle battery to run lights and a diesel heater, charged via solar panel. Have camped in it down to -20 and been warm enough. And the truck can go anywhere with good mileage and not having to pull a trailer.
Here’s what it looks like rigged up for winter, sheltering two worn out labs, packed for bird hunting, and on a beach in Mexico

It’s just one of the $200 off Amazon, a Vevor I believe. It takes some mechanical skill to install and the directions are terrible, but since it draws air and vents exhaust to the outside I’m comfortable sleeping with it on, which I never was with a propane heater ( I did install a CO and smoke alarm.) I’m not sure how big the space it heats is - say 7 man tent sized space with the truck bed and bed area and since it’s a tent it’s not particularly well insulated, but it’ll run all night and keep the temp inside between 10-18 Celsius on 3 litres of diesel.

I use a flexible duct pipe to direct the heat up into the bed area when it’s real cold which helps.
